The Samsung Chromebook 3 may not be the most impressive Chrome OS laptop ever released, but today it’s certainly one of the cheapest models available with halfway decent specs.

I’ve been using this CB since late 2014 and it’s been awesome. Makes for a great portable office machine. I’m currently using it as a media center PC hooked up to my 1080p TV for Netflix and video streaming.
How many of these cheap Chromebooks are fanless, nowadays? My daily driver is a ASUS C200, which I bought used (for $60). Although it’s a bit laggy at times and I wish it had more RAM, it’s the best 60 bucks I ever spent. What I really love is that it doesn’t have a fan and runs cool, silent, and seemingly forever.
Fanless CBs are fairly new (late 2015 and later). My Dell CB13 has a fan, but it’s very quiet and almost never runs (unless I’m streaming HD video with about 4 or more tabs open).
If you go fanless, you’re going to sacrifice some power for the lower wattage CPUs.
The Asus CBs are pretty solid entries as well.
