HP is adding a new convertible notebook to its line of business-class laptops. Earlier this year the company introduced a 13.3 inch EliteBook x360. Now there’s a 12.5 inch model too.

It’s called the HP EliteBook x360 1020 G2 and not only does it have a smaller screen, but it’s a thinner and lighter laptop. But it’s still an enterprise-friendly computer that’s MIL-STD 810G tested for shock and drop resistance, among other things.

The new 12.5 inch EliteBook x360 is available with three display options:

  • Full HD IPS touchscreen
  • Ultra-bright 700-nit full HD IPS touchscreen with 120 Hz refresh rate with HP Sure View privacy screen
  • 3840 x 2160 pixel touchscreen with 100% Adobe RGB color gamut

The notebook measures 11.41″ x 8.02″ x 0.53″ and weighs 2.5 pounds. It’s available with up to a Core i7-7600U processor with vPro, up to 16GB of DDR3-1866 memory, and up to 1TB of solid state storage.

It has two Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C ports, an HDMI 1.4a port, and a headset jack. HP says the laptop can be used with up to three external displays.

The EliteBook x360 1020 G2 also works with a pressure-sensitive HP Active Pen and has a backlit keyboard, dual-array microphones, and stereo speakers with Bang & Olufsen tuning.

It has a 49.28 Wh battery that the company says is good for up to 15.5 hours of battery life (under ideal conditions), and supports fast charging so that you can get a 50 percent charge in 30 minutes.

The HP EliteBook x360 1020 G2 should be available this month for $1380 and up.
