There are plenty of small, low-power Windows laptops that sell for less than $300. But when you start throwing in advanced features like a convertible tablet-style design and touchscreen display, and a full HD screen, the price tends to go up.

And then there’s the Acer TravelMate Spin B1. This laptop has all of those things plus 4GB of RAM, 64GB of eMMC storage, and an Intel Celeron N3450 Apollo Lake processor. Oh, and it runs Windows 10 Pro.

Right now Newegg is selling the laptop for a penny under $300.

Acer shows a list price of $400 for this 3.3 pound, education-oriented notebook. But most stores currently sell it for around $310 to $320. Still, $300 is a pretty good price… assuming you’re more concerned with size and price than performance.

The Apollo Lake processor is going to be a bit slower than an Intel Core i3 chip, and the eMMC storage won’t be as speedy as the SSDs you get in higher-priced notebooks.

  1. It looks very similar to the soon-to-be updated 11.6″ Full HD version of the Spin 1. can’t find this model available in the UK, but the Spin 1 can be had for £230. Any significant differences between the 2 ?
