The Microsoft Surface Book may have been one of the first devices to ship with a 13.5 inch, 3000 x 2000 pixel display, but recently several Chinese companies have released devices with similar displays… and much lower price tags.

The Surface Book sells for $1499 and up, but the Chuwi Hi13 tablet typically sells for less than $400 and the Cube Thinker notebook goes for under $700. Of course, neither machine is as powerful as Microsoft’s convertible laptop (and neither comes with the same level of customer support), but you have to cut costs somewhere, right?

Anyway, at the moment Geekbuying is selling both the Cube Thinker notebook and Chuwi Hi13 for even less than their normally cheap prices, at $617 and $339 respectively.

  1. Might want to put international version next to the nexus 5x – not really good for US customers.

    1. Depends. I picked one up a while ago and it worked fine on AT&T/Straight Talk. I eventually gave it to my wife when I wanted to switch to Project Fi though, since the international version doesn’t support Sprint.

  2. Thats kind of a misleading comparison. 6th Gen Intel Core i5, 128GB SSD, 8GB RAM Surface Book vs Apollo Lake N3450 4GB/64GB eMMC Chuwi Hi13. Once you get past the significant difference in hardware specs, I would love to see you test the two and throw in build quality, battery life and all the high end screen testing that some sites apply to laptops.
