After teasing a new tablet with an Intel Apollo Lake processor and a larger, high-res display in November, Chinese device maker Chuwi is officially launching the Chuwi Hi13 tablet at CES in Las Vegas.

The tablet has a 13.5 inch, 3000 x 200 pixel display, an Intel Celeron N3450 quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and Windows 10 software.

It’s also a 2-in-1 tablet that comes with a detachable keyboard, allowing you to use the tablet like a notebook. And it comes with a digital pen for writing or drawing.

The tablet supports USB Type-C and has dual-band WiFI.

While there aren’t a lot of other 13.5 inch 2-in-1 computers on the market, Chuwi does note that there is at least one: Microsoft’s expensive Surface Book.

Both the Surface Book and the Chuwi Hi13 feature 3000 x 200 pixel displays with a 3:2 aspect ratio. Both are said to have 1700:1 contrast ratios and 400 nit screen brightness and 100% color gamut. The difference is that the Surface Book is available with up to an Intel Core i7 processor and optional NVIDIA graphics, making Microsoft’s 2-in-1 a lot more powerful than Chuwi’s.

But the Apollo Lake chip should offer better performance than you get from many of the existing Chinese 2-in-1 tablets which are still rocking 2015-era Cherry Trail processors.
