Samsung’s Notebook 9 series laptops have always been thin and light. But the company’s new models with Intel Kaby Lake chips are the most compact to date.

The new Samsung Notebook 9 with a 13.3 inch display measures 0.55 inches thick and weighs 1.8 pounds.

The new 15 inch model isn’t much bigger, measuring 0.59 inches thick and weighing less than 2.2 pounds. The only other 15 inch laptop I’m aware of that’s this light-weight is the LG Gram 15.

Both the 13.3 inch and 15 inch Samsung Notebook 9 laptops feature 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS displays, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooh, and stereo 1.5 watt speakers.

And both have 30 Wh batteries with fast charging support. If there’s one major down side to these super-light computers, it’s that they probably won’t get the same kind of battery life you’d expect from a model with a beefier battery. But Samsung says you should be able to fully charge the battery in about 80 minutes or get a little over 2 hours of run time from a 20 minute charge.

The laptops features include backlit keyboards, built-in fingerprint sensors and Windows Hello support, and 720p webcams.

Samsung’s 15 inch model’s other specs include:

  • Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake CPU
  • 8GB of DDR4 RAM
  • Up to 256GB of PCIe NVMe solid state storage
  • 2 USB 3.0 ports
  • 1 USB 2.0 port
  • 1 USB Type-C port
  • HDMI
  • MicroSD
  • Headset jack

The 13.3 inch model is available with:

  • Intel Core i5 or Core i7 Kaby Lake chips
  • 8GB of RAM (Core i5) or 16GB of RAM (Core i7)
  • Up to 256GB of SATA 3 solid state storage
  • 2 USB 3.0 ports
  • 1 USB Type-C port
  • HDMI
  • MicroSD
  • Headset jack

Samsung hasn’t revealed the price for the new Notebook 9 series laptops yet.
