Apple’s AirPods are a set of completely wireless earbuds: place one in each ear, connect to your phone via Bluetooth and start listening to music (or podcasts, or whatever). But since there’s no cable connecting on AirPod earbud to the other, a lot of folks have wondered what happens if one falls out of your ear?

Well, if you notice in time, you can probably pick it up, dust it off, and put it back in. But if your AirPod falls into a toilet, sewer grate, or train track, Apple will sell you a replacement… for $69.

That’s the price for a replacement earbud, according to Apple’s updated service pricing page.

If you lose the charging case that comes with the AirPods, that’ll also set you back $69.

In other words, if you lose two AirPods and the charging case, you’re probably better off just buying a new set: Apple sells the whole package for $159.

Or you could buy a $10 strap that connects the AirPods together to reduce the chance you’ll lose one… but at that rate, you might as well just buy a cheaper set of Bluetooth headphones.

Apple has also revealed pricing for battery replacement and other repairs. If you have a defective battery in your AirPods, the company will replace it free of charge while the earbuds are under warranty. Batteries that need replacing due to normal wear will cost you $49. And out-of-warranty repairs cost $69.
