Mini desktop computers seem to be everywhere these days, but Shuttle has been offering small form-factor desktops for 15 years. The company’s latest is the Shuttle DX30, a fanless mini PC with an Intel Celeron J3355 dual-core Apollo Lake processor and support for up to three external displays.

While this is the company’s first model with an Apollo Lake processor, the inclusion of 2 COM ports and a PS/2 port suggests it’s aimed at commercial and industrial applications, although there’s no reason it couldn’t also be used as a household or business computer.

The Shuttle DX30 measures 7.5″ x 6.5″ x 1.7″ and features a “cooled heat pip” system rather than a fan to help dissipate heat from the 10 watt Celeron J3355 processor and other internal components.

Under the hood, there’s a 2.5 inch drive bay for a hard drive or SSD and two DDR3L-1600 SODIMM slots for up to 8GB of RAM as well as M.2 Type M and Type A/E slots for storage and/or wireless cards.

The system has a Gigabit Ethernet port, DisplayPort and HDMI ports, two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, an SD card reader, mic and headphone jacks, a PS/2 port , two COM ports, and an optional VGA output.

The company hasn’t announced a price or release date for the DX30 yet.
