Sony’s latest flagship smartphones are coming to the United States in the next week or two… but they’re not coming cheap.

The Sony Xperia X Compact is up for pre-order for $469 and it should ship September 25th. The larger, more powerful Sony Xperia XZ, meanwhile, is coming October 2nd and has a suggested retail price of $700.

It’s worth pointing out that the Xperia X Compact actually has a suggested price of $500, so it’s already available at a discount.

The US versions of the phones will be sold unlocked, and should work on GSM networks including AT&T and T-Mobile. There’s one major difference between the US and international versions of the phones: the models sold in the United States do not have fingerprint sensors.

Sony’s Xperia XZ  is a smartphone features a 5.2 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM, and either 32GB or 64GB of storage.

It supports microSD card slots for up to 256GB of removable storage, features an UP68 water resistant design, a USB Type-C port, a 23MP rear camera, and a 15MP front-facing camera. The phone has a 2,900 mAh battery.

It’s one of the most powerful models in Sony’s 2016 Xperia X lineup.

The Xperia X Compact is the latest in Sony’s line of flagship phones with small screens. But that means something a little different this year.

Over the past few years, Sony has released Compact versions of its high-end Z series smartphones and they’ve typically had smaller, lower resolution displays, smaller batteries, and few other compromises.

This year the company has rolled out a whole bunch of Xperia X smartphones with a range of different features. Some models have Snapdragon 820 chips, others have Snapdragon 650 or MediaTek Helio P10 chips.

So the Xperia X Compact is basically a smaller version of one of those phones: the mid-range one. It basically has similar hardware to the Xperia X, but not the XZ or X Performance.

The Compact phone has a 4.6 inch, 128 x 720 pixel display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 23MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and a USB Type-C port.

It’s powered by a 2,700 mAh battery, and this model is not water-resistant at all.
