Lenovo launched a line of budget tablets earlier this year, including a 7 inch model with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 1024 x 600 pixel display, and a 1 GHz quad-core CPU.
While those specs were a little underwhelming, it looks like there’s a more powerful model on the way.
Lenovo hasn’t officially launched the Lenovo Tab 3 7 Plus yet, but leaks suggest it’ll have a faster processor, more RAM, and a higher-resolution display.
The Lenovo Tab 3 7 Plus is said to feature a 1280 x 720 pixel IPS screen, a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snpadragon 410 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.
Other features include a 3,500 mAh battery, GPS, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a microSD card reader, front and rear cameras, and Android 6.0 software.
Retail listings suggest the tablet will be available in Europe for around € 124, and I suspect that means it’ll sell for around $125 and up in the United States if/when it goes on sale here.
I’ve got an A-Series Lenovo 7-inch Tablet/Phone (dual SIM) around here somewhere that’s like 3 years old and has the same or better specs than these crappy things – and it even cost about the same! I don’t use it any more because it’s buggy, prone to Stage Fright, and Lenovo NEVER gave it even ONE software update! The good thing is it was pre-bloatware days when my tablet came out, so there’s decent internal storage to compliment the removable storage.
I wanted a tablet like this … but I ultimately wound up getting the ZTE ZMAX Pro weird that we have reached a point where a phone with better specs costs less than a tablet with the specs of a $60 smartphone
What happened to the Tab3 10 Business? It’s no longer available on Lenovo’s website, so soon after being released this past June. I was hoping to get my hands on one.
Good but not really much of an upgrade from my LG G PAD 7 the only real plus is the smaller design that Lenovo offers I guess I’ll have to see how it is when it hits stores..
What the hell? Why are we heading back to 7″ tablet land? I thought we had all agreed 8″+ tablet land was the place to be.
I think 7, 8 and 10 inch tablets have their place. 10 is best for web or media consumption but sometimes they’re cumbersome to carry around. 8 is still good for web and media consumption, and it has better portability than 10. 7 is still my preferred size for reading. I like having access to all 3 sizes.
I was looking for a smaller tablet for reading but I think the ZTE ZMAX Pro is going to fill that niche until this tablet inevitably comes down in price or refurbished units show up.. my only issue with the tablets I have now are those darn bezels..
I’ve got a Zmax Pro, it’s got a couple of quirks but you get a lot of device for the price. No root yet but there are people working on it.
I too think they all have their place. 10″ or higher is best if portability is enough for you, as you say. And 8″ attempts perhaps a better balance between those things for many people. 7″ though – the place for that is in history books. LOL.
I’m just kind of surprised we are seeing so much love in the 7″ space. I guess it is an attempt to find something that the public will magically start buying in droves again. When ipad mini came out with the 8″ size the 7″ category pretty much died out in popularity. But lately this is the 2nd or 3rd rumored 7″ device I’ve seen from major manufacturers. I prefer something larger myself.
