The $400 ZTE Axon 7 smartphone offers a lot of bang for your buck, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 5.5 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel display.
But what if you’re looking for something a little smaller? Then there’s the ZTE Axon 7 Mini… which is a little smaller, and generally less impressive.
ZTE hasn’t brought the new Axon 7 mini to the US yet, but Roland Quandt noticed that the phone is now available in Germany.
The Axon 7 Mini features a 5.2 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage.
Like its larger sibling, the new “mini” phone has a fingerprint scanner on the back and stereo speakers on the front.
Other features include 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a 13MP rear camera that’s capable of recording 4K video, an 8MP front camera, a microSD card slot and dual SIM card slots.
Overall the phone’s not really much more compact than the full-sized ZTE Axon 7. If a 5.5 inch phone is too big for you, I’m not sure a 5.2 inch option will be much better. But the Axon 7 Mini does have at least one other thing going for it: the price.
The Axon 7 sells for about €449 in Germany, while the Axon 7 mini is just €299.
There’s no word on if or when the smaller/cheaper model will be available in other regions.
