Huwei has launched a new large-screened smartphone in China, and as expected, the Honor Note 8Â features a 6.6 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel display, an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and other premium specs.
But the price isn’t all that premium: the goes on sale in China August 9th for ¥2,299 and up. That’s about $345 in US dollars.
The starting price gets you a phone with 32GB of storage, but 64GB and 128GB options are also available.
Each model features a Kirin 955 processor with ARM Mali-T880 graphics, a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, and a 4,500 mAh battery.
The phone has a fingerprint sensor on the back, an AMOLED display, 802.11ac WiFi, a USB 2.0 Type-C connector, and dual-SIM support.
It’s not the only budget Chinese smartphone to launch in China recently. In May Xiaomi unveiled the 6.44 inch Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone. That models’s a bit cheaper, with a starting price of ¥1,499 ($225), but an entry-level Mi Max has just 3GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, and a 1080p display.
There’s no word on whether Huawei will offer the Honor Note 8 outside of China, but the company does sell some of the phones from its Honor lineup internationally.
