The upcoming Pyramid Flipper tablet will be sold by a company called Eve Tech. But it’s being designed in collaboration with Eve’s potential customers.
Eve Tech has been working with members of its forums to choose the features that will be included in the finished product, and weigh the pros and cons of each. While the final spec sheet hasn’t been revealed yet, you can see which features have been “locked in,” “rejected,” or “suggested” in a post at the Eve Community site.
Now the company is starting to talk about actually selling the Pyramid Flipper. It’ll go up for pre-order through a crowdfunding campaign in late September or early October, and Eve hopes to begin shipping the first tablets by December or January.
At this point we know the tablet will be a 2-in-1 device that works with a wireless keyboard and a Wacom digital pen. It’ll have USB Type-A and Type-C ports, as well as Thunderbolt 3 support. There’ll also be a dedicated headphone jack.
The Pyramid Flipper is designed to run Windows 10 and it will support Microsoft’s Windows Hello software. It’s expected to have a Gorilla Glass screen and an Intel Kaby lake processor.
Some features it won’t have are an AMOLED display, a built-in projector, or additional USB ports in the charger.
Only 500 units will be produced initially, assuming the crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo meets its goals. After the first units go out, Eve plans to sell the tablet through its own website.
Update: The Eve Tech team is holding an Ask Me Anything session on reddit Thursday, August 18th.

Neat. But, then there’s the Asus Transformer 3… with a warranty…and it will be in-stock at local retailers…and I don’t have to pay for it 6 months before it goes into production.
What’s with all the crowdfunded projects for things that are already things?
This will be available in stores as well, don’t worry 🙂
But those first 500 are kinda reserved for us ;P
How does it differentiate from any other Kaby Lake tablets releasing?
You will see 🙂
Lol, thats not as assuring as you think it sounds.
Ill be honest with you, this product is going to fail hard in the retail world. This is the kind of thing that early-adopters get all excited about, and the creators mistake early synergy for success. They’ve managed to ‘wow’ 500 people, but that’s nothing.
The simple fact is that it won’t compete with the big brands. They have the resources to respond to the market, and they can do it fast. Asus will beat them to the market, HP will scoop up the enterprise customers, and Acer will be on Costco shelves, all before they have their test batch
Hello, I’m Ervin. A member of Eve Community. I just wanted to say this… This will be my dream device. I am one of the lucky 500 and I can tell you that this ride that I’m having with Eve-tech is the ride of my life! I get to get a device “a la carte” which is amazing to me. And I want to thank this way to Konstantinos and Mike for letting me and my many friends in the community pick what we want. And trust me when I tell you this… IT IS DAMN HARD TO MAKE A DEVICE! You wouldn’t believe it. I do, I have experienced that and it still isn’t over huh So please, feel free to join us, there are still things left to decide 🙂 Or you can simply observe how a device is actually being made from scratch. Can you post a link to a photo or render of the device?
This whole thing smells of vapourware and sold-promises.
(Is it a tablet with a magnetic keyboard, the keyboard acting as a kickstand?)
Looking at the feature lock down page, it doesn’t look to be much better (if at all) than any of the existing tablets out there. Pass.
3:2 aspect ratio, good storage (128gb), 8gb RAM. Sounds like a Surface. Loud front-firing speakers, ginormous battery??
If it had a real detachable keyboard to convert into a true laptop AND if that keyboard had features (battery, ports, storage)… I could see the value. Otherwise… just a Surface Tablet playing the occasional role of a flimsy laptop.
