Acer’s Liquid Jade Primo is a Windows 10 smartphone with support for Continuum software, allowing you to connect it to an external display and run some apps in desktop mode.

The smartphone made its debut at CES in January, but the phone didn’t start shipping until April… and that was a European launch.

Now the Liquid Jade Primo is available in the United States. The Microsoft Store is selling a carrier unlocked model for $649 — and that price includes a desktop dock, keyboard, and mouse.

The phone features a 5.5 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot for up to 128GB of removable storage.

It has a 2,870 mAh battery, a 21MP rear camera, an 8MP front-facing camera, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and dual-SIM support for 4G LTE HSPA+ networks (basically the phone should work with T-Mobile or AT&T in the United States).

The Acer Liquid Jade Primo has USB 3.1 Type-C connector, and unlike some other recent phones, it also has a 3.5mm headset jack.

When you look at the specs alone, the phone’s $649 price tag might seem a tad high… but it’s the same price BlackBerry charges for its Android-powered Priv smartphone, which has the same processor plus a slide-out keyboard, a bigger battery, and a higher-resolution display, among other things.

But Acer’s phone isn’t just a phone. While it’s not the first phone with support for Microsoft’s Continuum feature, it is one of the first I’m aware of to ship with a keyboard, mouse, and dock. Normally you’d have to buy those things separately

It’s unlikely many people would use this phone as their only computer. Continuum for phone lets you run Windows Store apps in desktop mode, but you can’t run legacy Win32-style apps. HP has sidestepped that limitation by positioning its Windows 10-powered HP Elite x3 as a phone for enterprise users and adding a feature that lets system administrators set up Win32 apps that run on a server and stream to the phone… allowing you to “run” desktop apps using the Elite x3.

But it’s nice to know that everything you need to use the Acer Liquid Jade Primo like a desktop comes in the same box as the phone… except the display.
