Rumor has it that Google will released at least two new Nexus phones again this year… and that HTC may be building two of them. Now some of the details are starting to emerge… and it looks like one phone will have a 5 inch display, 4GB of RAM, and a 2770 mAh battery, among other things.

Android Police has published specs for the phone that’s code-named “Sailfish” or “S1.” You should probably take the report with a grain of salt, since it comes a single source… but Android Police says it’s a source that’s been reliable in the past.

Update: Android Police has also leaked specs for a 5.5 inch model code-named “Marlin.”

The phone is said to have a 1920 x 1080 pixel display with 440 pixels per inch, an unspecified 2 GHz quad-core 64-bit processor, and 32GB of storage (although there may be other storage options).

Other features are said to include a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone, a 12MP rear camera, 8MP front-camera, a USB Type-C port, a headphone jack on the top, and a speaker (or speakers) on the bottom.

Some of my favorite features of the 2015 Google Nexus 5X included the rear camera and fingerprint scanner, so I’m hoping that the new model has versions of those that are at least as good as last year’s. But I was underwhelmed by the performance of the Nexus 5X due to the limitations of the Snapdragon 808 processor and 2GB of RAM. With twice the memory and a newer processor, it’s hard to imagine that the new HTC S1/Sailfish device wouldn’t be faster.

What remains to be seen is whether it will also be more expensive.
