After launching its first Windows tablet in 2015, Eve Tech is getting ready to launch a new model with higher-quality hardware.

The Eve T1 was an entry-level device with an 8 inch screen, an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, and pretty run-of-the-mill specs. But the upcoming Eve Pyramid Flipper is a 2-in-1 tablet with a 12 inch high-resolution display, an Intel Kaby Lake processor, and at least 8GB of RAM.

The company unveiled some of the specs in April, but this week Eve updated the spec sheet to note that it will ship with a 7th-gen Intel “Kaby Lake” chip instead of a Skylake Core M CPU.

Eve says the tablet is “crowd developed,” since the designers are taking feedback from members of the community into account when choosing hardware for the project.

The tablet’s hardware hasn’t been finalized yet, so the specs are subject to change, but so far EVE says we can expect a 2160 x 1440 pixel or higher resolution display that measures 12 or 12.5 inches across, at least 128GB of solid state storage, stereo speakers, and an active digitizer with support for a pressure-sensitive pen.

The tablet will likely have at least one USB 3.1/Thunderbolt 3 Type-C port, and multiple full-sized USB ports, 802.11ac WiFi with WiDi or Miracast wireless display support, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS.

There’s no word on the price or release date yet, and Eve Tech has yet to reveal what the tablet will even look like, although it’s expected to resemble a Microsoft Surface.
