Acer unveiled a new 10 inch Android tablet on April 21st, the same day when the company introduced its latest notebooks, Chromebook, and a 2-in-1 Windows tablet with liquid cooling. By comparison, the Acer Iconia Tab 10 A3-A40 didn’t look all that exciting… especially since it wasn’t clear at the time whether this tablet would be sold in the United States.
While I still can’t answer that question, it does look like Acer is at least considering offering the Android tablet in the US, because it just showed up at the FCC website.
The Acer Iconia Tab 10 A3-A40 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow software, and it features a 1920 x 1200 pixel display, a quad-core MediaTek MT8163A ARM Cortex-A53 processor with Mali-T720 graphics, and 2GB of RAM.
The tablet will be available with 16GB to 64GB of built-in storage and features a microSD card slot. It also supports 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth and features a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera.
It also features a distinctive design with a textured rear cover and gold, or maybe bronze-colored accents on the sides by the front-facing speakers. The tablet measures 10.2″ x 6.6″ x 0.4″ and weighs about 1.2 pounds.
Acer equips the tablet with a 6,100 mAh, 22.57 Wh battery that the company says should provide up to 8 hours of battery life.
The Acer Iconia Tab 10 A3-A40 is expected to go on sale in Europe this June for around $250.
