About a year after launching the first “Live Cases” for select Google Nexus and Samsung Galaxy smartphones, Google is now letting users design their own for Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P phones.
A Live Case features custom images and a shortcut button on the back that allows you to launch a favorite app with a single app.
You can customize and order a Live Case at the Google Store website for $35.
There are two types of custom Live Cases available: Photos or Places. In other words, you can either choose to upload your own photos, or select locations from Google Maps. Once you choose your imagery, you can select a photo style or map color to customize the design.
Run the Google Live Case app on you phone, and you can also create Live Wallpapers on your phone to go with the case.
The shortcut button communicates with your phone via NFC and it can be configured to launch the camera or other apps.
Cases are made of polycarbonate and they’re available with matte or glossy finishes.
