Samsung quietly launched a new 7 inch Android tablet this week by posting a product page on its German website, where the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A is now selling for about €169.

As SamMobile notes, odds are that Samsung will sell the tablet under the Galaxy Tab E name if and when it comes to the United States.

The tablet has a 7 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage.

It also features a microSDXC card slot for up to 200GB of removable storage, a 5MP rear camera with auto-focus and a 2MP fixed-focus front camera. The tablet ships with Android 5.1 software.

Wireless capabilities including 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.

Samsung says the tablet’s 4,000 mAh battery should be good for up to 9 hours of video playback time.

The new 7 inch Galaxy Tab A/E is part of Samsung’s entry-level tablet family and lacks some of the features you’ll find on the company’s more expensive devices such as S-pen support.
