The Casio WSD-F10 is the first smartwatch from the veteran watch-maker. But the brand name isn’t the only thing that makes it different from most other smartwatches on the market.

Casio’s Android Wear-powered smartwatch also features a rugged design and water resistant up to 50 meters.

Those features come at a cost: the Casio WSD-F10 is relatively chunky for wrist wear, and it’s not exactly cheap: the watch is priced at $500.

First announced during the Consumer Electronics Show in January, the Casio WSD-F10 is now available for purchase from Amazon, REI, ShopCasio, and the Google Store.

It comes in red, green, black, and orange colors, and the watch features a 1.32 inch, 320 x 300 pixel capacitive touchscreen display, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and directional and atmospheric sensors as well as a gyrometer and accelerometer.

Casio’s watch is MIL-STD-810G tested and designed for outdoor use: it has 5 levels of screen brightness, supports up to a month of battery life if used in timekeeping mode only (or a day if used as a smartwtch), and has features for displaying sunrise and sunset time, measuring height up to 32,800 feet, and for tracking activities including walking, running, climbing, and cycling.
