Samsung introduced a new low-cost Chromebook at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. Now the Samsung Chromebook 3 is available for purchase from Adorama for $200.
The entry-level model has an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, an Intel Celeron N3050 Braswell processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. Samsung also plans to offer a model with 4GB of memory in the future.
While those specs aren’t really anything to write home about, the Chromebook 3 does have a few features to help set it apart from the company’s earlier models. It supports 802.11ac WiFi and USB 3.0 and the notebook has a matte display.
The notebook also has Bluetooth 4.0, stereo speakers, a microSD card slot, and an HDMI port.
While the Chromebook 3 is available to the public, it was designed with education and business customers in mind, and the laptop has a sturdy magnesium frame. The Chromebook 3 measures about 0.7 inches thick and weighs about 2.5 pounds. Samsung says it should get up to 11 hours of battery life.
