HP is updating its Spectre x360 line of convertible laptops with two new models: an updated 13.3 inch version with a Skylake processor and an optional OLED display and a new model with a 15.6 inch screen.

While I’m tempted to discount the larger version as not really compact enough to be Liliputing material, the notebook weighs about 4.1 pounds and measures about 0.6 inches thick, making it pretty darn small for a 15.6 inch laptop… especially one with a 360 degree hinge that lets you use the notebook in tablet mode.

The new laptop makes use of its extra size for more than just a big screen. It’s also got four speakers and a big 64.5 Whr battery for up to 13 hours of battery life if you opt for a model with a 1920 x 1080 pixel display and up to 9.5 hours on a model with an Ultra HD display.

The notebook has three full-sized USB 3.0 ports and a single USB Type-C port (for data only, not charging), as well as HDMI and Mini Displayort.

HP will offer models with 4GB to 16GB of RAM, Core i5 or Core i7 Skylake chips, and 128GB to 512GB of solid state storage.

HP says a model with a Core i5 processor, 256GB of storage, and a full HD screen will sell for about $1150. What’s surprising is how much more you get for an extra $200: a model with a Core i7 chip, 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and an Ultra HD screen.

The new version of the company’s convertible features a Quad HD OLED display, a wider color gamut, and support for optional Intel Iris graphics.

HP says this new model will also be available with up to 1TB of storage.

The HP Spectre x360 with an OLED display should be available this spring.
