HP is updating its line of portable, business-class laptops and 2-in-1s with a new 12.5 inch EliteBook Folio laptop, a third-gen EliteBook 1040 notebook with a 14 inch display, and a third-gen EliteBook 800 lineup featuring 12.5 inch to 15.6 inch displays.
EliteBook Folio G1
This compact notebook measures less than half an inch thick and weighs less than 2.2 pounds. It has a CNC aluminum case, a durable MIL-STD tested body, and support for options including a 3840 x 2160 pixel display and a touchscreen display.
The notebook has two Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C ports,a hinge that lets you fold the screen down 180 degrees, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, a 38 Whr battery, 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of solid state storage.
HP will offer models with Core M5 or Core M7 processors and prices are expected to start at $999Â when the Elitebook Folio G1 goes on sale later in March.
EliteBook 1040 G3
This notebook may be a little bigger, but it’s also more powerful, with support for up to a Core i7 Skylake processor, and up to 16GB of RAM.
The HP EliteBook 1040 G3 has a 14 inch display which comes in 1920 x 1080 pixel or 2560 x 1440 pixel options, and the notebook has two USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C port, and an HDMI port.
It’s expected to go on sale later this month for $1199 and up.
EliteBook 800 G3
The EltieBook 800 G3 series covers a lot of ground: there are models with 12.5 inch, 14 inch, and 15.6 inch displays that come in full HD, quad HD, or Ultra HD resolutions.
What these new business-class notebooks have in common is an upgrade to Intel’s 6th-gen Core “Skylake” processors and designs that are about 10 percent thinner and 13 percent lighter than last year’s models.
The new EliteBook 800 G3 notebooks should be available this month for $949 and up.
