Dell’s new Latitude 7000 line of laptops are getting a 2016 makeover, complete with Intel Skylake processors and other upgrades.

The company has new models with 12.5 inch, 13.3 inch, and 14 inch displays… but it’s the 13.3 inch model that really stands out. This model launches today for $1299 and up.

The new Dell Latitude 13 7000 Series is a compact notebook that weighs just 2.5 pounds, measures less than 0.6 inches thick, and offers up to 10 hours of battery life according to Dell’s estimates.

It features Dell’s Inifinity Edge display with super-thin bezels, first seen in the Dell XPS 13 line of laptops from 2015.

Dell will offer models with either a 1920 x 1080 pixel non-touch display or a 3200 x 1800 pixel touschreen display.

The notebook will be available with a carbon fiber or CNC machine aluminum case, a magnesium alloy palm rest, and up to 512GB of solid state storage. It has a backlit keyboard, and Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type-C) connectivity.

If there’s a down side, it’s that the new Latitude 13 7000 Series is probably the least powerful laptop in the new 7000 Series. It’s available with up to an Intel Core M7 Skylake processor, but other members of the family support up to a Core i7 Skylake chip.

The Dell Latitude 12 7000 measures 12.2″ x 8.5″ x 0.7″ and weighs about 2.8 pounds. Dell will offer three screen options: 1366 x 768 pixels and 1920 x 1080 pixel non-touchscreen displays, or a 1080p touchscreen display.
