The Dell Latitude 5000 Series laptops are business-class notebooks with mid-range specs. But this year’s mid-range specs are better than last year’s… and Dell is updating the 12.5 inch Dell Latitude 12 5000 Series notebook family with new models sporting Intel Skylake processors.

The new Latitude 12 5000 Series notebook launches today for $849 and up.

Dell is replacing the Haswell and Broadwell chips used in 2015-era models with support for up to an Intel Core i7 Skylake processor. The notebooks support up to 16GB of DDR4 2133 MHz memory, up to 512GB of solid state storage, or up to 1TB of hard drive storage.

The notebook will be available with 1366 x 768 pixel or 1920 x 1080 pixel displays, and you can also opt for a 1080p touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass.

Dell offers 3 cell, 47 Whr or 4 cell, 62 Whr battery options and the new Latitude 12 5000 features Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, and optional mobile broadband. The laptop has three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and VGA ports, a headset jack, and an SD card reader.

It measures about 12.2″ x 8.3″ x 0.9″ and weighs 3.29 pounds with a 3 cell battery.
