Acer is updating its affordable 11.6 inch Chromebook. The new Chromebook 11 CB3-131 has a refined design to make the laptop more durable for use in commercial and educational environments. The company says it can withstand 132 pounds of force on the top lid and survive falls of about 2 feet without damage.

But the new Chromebook 11 is still a small, affordable laptop. It weighs 2.4 pounds, measures just over 0.7 inches thick, and it will sell for $180 and up when it hits the streets in February.

The new Chromebook 11 features dual-band 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, SD card, and HDMI ports.

It will be available with 2GB or 4GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of eMMC storage.

Acer says the laptop should get up to 9 hours of battery life.

While the Chromebook 11 CB3-131 will sell for $180 and up in the US, prices will start at €329 n Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
