The Acer Chromebase 24 (CA24I) looks like a 23.8 inch full HD monitor with an IPS display (because that’s exactly what it is). But under the hood, this monitor has the guts of a Chromebook… and a reasonably decent Chromebook at that.

Acer says the new Chromebase 24 is the first all-in-one Chrome desktop to feature an Intel Core processor.

Other premium specs include support for up to 8GB of RAM, 802.11ac WiFi, and Gigabit Ethernet.

The new Chromebase 24 features a 1920 x 1080 pixel screen with 178 degree viewing angles, four digital microphones and an adjustable HD webcam for video conferencing, and a touchscreen with support for 10-point multitouch, which Acer says could make this a good fit for a digital signage or kiosk system.

The stand connects to the display via an adjustable hinge, that lets you tilt the screen forward about 5 degrees or tilt it back up to 30 degrees.

Acer says pricing and availability will vary from region to region.
