It never fails: you settle in for a marathon Futurama or Kimmy Schmidt marathon, but you doze off halfway through the second episode. Netflix is here to help.

The company has released plans for a DY project that will automatically pause your video when you fall asleep. How does it work? Simple: you just need to sew a custom pair of socks with built-in motion sensors and infrared lights that can pause your TV.

OK, maybe not exactly simple, but still pretty cool.

The project requires a bit of knitting know-how as well as a bit of electronics expertise. It’s probably easier to just restart the video or hit the rewind button when you wake up.

But even if you don’t feel like wiring an Arduino microcontroller, accelerometer, lights, and a battery into your socks, it’s worth checking out the Netflix instructions just to ogle at the sock patterns with themes inspired by Netflix Original shows such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Narcos, Master of None, and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
