The Chinese company responsible for the MeeGoPad line of tiny computers has unveiled a new model called the MeegoPad T08 that has an Intel Atom Cherry Trail processor, support for Windows 10, and a built-in projector.

Some models also support a sort of virtual touchscreen feature, allowing you to project a Windows desktop on a screen and interact with it by using a pen to tap or draw on the projected images.

I haven’t seen any details about the release date or retail price yet, but wholesalers can order units from Alibaba for $300 or less… as long as they’re willing to place an order of at least 100 units.

The computer will be available with an Atom x5-Z8300 or x5-Z8500 processor, up to 4GB of RAM, and up to 64GB of storage. It has 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, a micro USB 2.0 port, a microSD card slot, a headset jack, and HDMI output and input (so you can use the device as a projector for other hardware).

There’s also a 12,000 mAH battery, which should allow you to use the little computer to deliver presentations or watch videos without plugging it into a wall jack.

There’s no word on the projector resolution or brightness, but given the computer’s compact size, I’d expect it to be fairly dim and fairly low-res. It will probably work best in dark or dimly lit rooms.

It’s also worth noting that MeegoPad has an unfortunate history of shipping products with unlicensed versions of Windows, so don’t be surprised if you have to pay extra for a valid Windows license.

  1. i can imagine having something similar to that in many offices or homes

but not the cheap-priced minimal-version, but more expensively build things (probably without battery too)

    1. You can always just buy a regular project and an intel compustick for another $100.

        1. Those are not the same thing….
U can power compustick with just the power USB port most Projector has now.
It’s a very clean solution without wires.

          1. for really strange values of “clean”…

another box and cable lying around, two remotes instead of one, probably with usb-hub to connect keyboard and mouse, another cable and box if you want a mechanical hard drive,…

that is nothing i’d want to set up 5min before a meeting, or would have liked lying around in my living room.

compute stick is nice for upgrading existing screens to something “smart”, but if you want something new then not so much. even if you really want to split computer and display, I’d prefer a slightly bigger box with more than one USB-Port and/or enough volume for at least a m2 ssd. if you include it in another, externally powered box then you don’t need to restrict yourself so much to be usb-powered and having no I/O.

          2. It’s a hdmi stick u plugin to the Projector. There’s no other box or cable. Pair it with a Bluetooth kb/mouse and there’s no need for anything more wires or anything else to plug in.

  2. Hmmh, how about a windows phone that supports Win 32 and has a projector on it … obviate the need for a 2nd screen.
