The IdeaPad 100s is Lenovo’s entry into the compact, low-power, and inexpensive laptop space. the notebook has an 11.6 inch display, an Intel Atom Z3735F Bay Trail processor, and it weighs about 2.2 pounds.
Lenovo sells the laptop for $200, which makes it competitive with similar notebooks from Asus, Acer, and HP. But Best Buy is currently selling the IdeaPad 100s for $150, which makes it one of the cheapest Windows 10 laptops available from a major PC company.
The laptop also comes with a 1-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365.
Note that the laptop has a relatively low power processor and just 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. But that’s pretty much par for the course for portable notebooks in this price range.

Is the ram upgradable?
Probably not. My S20-30 has 2GB soldered on board, no way to upgrade the SDRAM, and Lenovo provides ONLY 64-bit Win drivers for it. Steer clear of stuff like this!
The Intel NUC for $128 (NUC5CPYH) is only $95 on Newegg’s main site!
Be forewarned that the trackpad on the Lenovo 100s does not support Windows gestures including
2-finger scroll. From what I’ve read, this may be a hardware limitation and not a driver issue. If so, this will be a frustrating device to use without a mouse. I saw this behavior on 2 different devices at Best Buy and also checked the mouse/touchpad configuration to see if it was configurable (it was not). A Google search found this touchpad complaint on ex-US based 100s’s (can’t recall where).
I know plenty of people who don’t even know about trackpad gestures, and people lived without them for years, no problem at all. It’s a point worth noting, but I doubt it’s much of an issue for most people.
