Fuhu has been selling a line of kid-friendly tablets under the nabi brand name for a few years, and now the company is launching the most powerful nabi tablet yet.

The nabi Elev-8 is an Android tablet with an 8 inchIPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragion 64-bit, octa-core processor, and a $169 price tag.

The tablet should be available soon from Walmart and Toys R Us.

Fuhu’s latest tablet has a 1280 x 800 pixel display, 32GB of storage, and up to 10 hours of battery life during video playback. There’s also a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of removable storage.

The tablet runs Android 5.1 Lollipop software, but it also comes with Fuhu’s Blue Morpho OS which is a custom user interface designed to make Android more kid (and parent) friendly.

If you buy a Elev-8 tablet by the end of 2015, you also get a 6-month subscription to nabi Pass, which offers access to music, eBooks, apps, videos, and games.

Like most nabi tablets, the Elev-8 also comes with a red plastic bumper case that helps protect the tablet against falls. But the case is removable if you’d rather use the tablet naked.

    1. To me it makes more sense to buy an amazon fire for $50. My brother has broken 2 nexus 7s. One stopped charging (google’s fault) but the screen ended up getting shattered to bits.
The next one got cracked and the screen got replaced only to be cracked again….
