Lenovo’s Yoga line of laptops pretty much created the mold for a modern convertible notebook. The company introduced its first Yoga in 2012, offering a touchscreen notebook with a 360 degree hinge at a time when most convertibles were chunky laptops which transformed into tablets when you twisted the screen horizontally instead of vertically.
Over the past few years, Lenovo has updated the Yoga family with a number of models including some with better displays and others with lower price tags.
Now Lenovo is launching a new line of high-end models, sporting Intel Core i7 Skylake processors and at least 8GB of RAM and 256GB of solid state storage. The new Lenovo Yoga 900 is a premium convertible, with prices starting at $1200.
Here’s what you get for your money:
- Intel Core i7-6500U processor with Intel HD 520 graphics
- 13.3 inch, 3200 x 1800 pixel display
- 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0
- 1 USB Type C 3.0 port with video-out support
- 2 USB 3.0 Type-A ports
- SDXC card reader
- Headset jack
- 66 Whr battery for up to 10 hours of battery life
- 1MP webcam
- Windows 10 home
The notebook measures 12.8″ x 8.9″ x 0.6″ and weighs just over 2.8 pounds. A model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage sells for $1200, but Lenovo also offers a $1400 model with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Has Lenovo committed to not installing secret BIOS modifications that keep their bloatware installed even after a fresh install of Windows? https://liliputing.com/2015/08/some-lenovo-laptops-install-software-even-after-you-clean-install-windows-but-theres-a-fix.html . They haven’t even been in my consideration since reading that article.
i7-6200U doesn’t exist. You mean i5-6200U? 🙂
I’d double check, but my source for that part no longer seems to be online. All I can see are Core i7 models right now, so I’ll update the post to reflect that.
Thanks!
