The HTC One A9 is a 5 inch smartphone with a full HD AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a $400 price tag… but only if you order one soon.

When HTC unveiled the phone last week, the company said the $400 price was a limited-time offer. Now we know just how limited.

Starting November 7th, 2015 the HTC One A9 will cost $500.

The phone has pretty competitive specs for a $400 handset. That’s how much Motorola charges for an entry-level Moto X Pure Edition phone with a bigger, higher-resolution display and a Snapdragon 808 processor, but just 16GB of storage.

But when the HTC One A9 price goes up by $100, the Moto X Pure could look pretty attractive by comparison… unless you have your heart set on a phone with a smaller screen (in which case, you might want to consider the Google Nexus 5X, which has a starting price of $379).

If you have your heart set on the HTC One A9 though, you’ll get a phone with a 2,150 mAh battery, Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 support, a fingerprint sensor, a 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilization, and an UltraPixel front camera.

The phone features 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, and 4G LTE. You can buy an unlocked model that’s compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile or buy a model that works on Sprint’s wireless network.

  1. Gonna have to drop to $300 to stand a chance. Even then, it scream bootleg iPhone.

    1. The iphone 6 is a bootleg HTC One. “The smartphone was unveiled on 19 February 2013” -Wikipedia

      1. The iPhone 6 has absolutely no resemblance to the HTC one other than the bands..

  2. HTC, is in position to threaten anyone as you pointed out both alternative phones are much better for less money…
