Google’s set to unveil two new Nexus smartphones on September 29th, but a series of leaks haven’t left much to the imagination. There are two thing we haven’t seen yet though: the price and launch dates.

Now the folks at Android Police have both. According to the website, the Google Nexus 5X will sell for $380 and up, while the Nexus 6P will have a starting price of $500.

Both phones should be available for pre-order starting September 29th.

Android Police reports pre-orders will open initially in the US, UK, Ireland, Korea, and Japan and that the phones will only be available online. They won’t be sold through wireless carriers, which means if you want a Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P, you’ll have to pay full price for the phone at the time of purchase.

Once you’ve paid for the phone, you should be able to bring it to the network of your choice since the phone should support all major US wireless carriers.

The Google Nexus 5X is expected to be manufactured by LG and to feature a 5.2 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, while the Huawei-built Nexus 6P should have a 5.7 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel screen and a Snapdragon 810 chip. Both phone should have fingerprint scanners on the back.

The $500 starting price for the Google Nexus 6P is for a phone with 32GB of built-in storage, while $380 gets you a Nexus 5X with 16GB of storage. Google is expected to offer a 32GB model of the Nexus 5X as well, and 64GB and 128GB versions of the Nexus 6P.

  1. Both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 had been priced at $350 for the 16 GB models. They also came with the most powerful smartphone SoC’s available at launch (Snapdragon S4 Pro and Snapdragon 800).

If true, those prices are way too high for smartphones with SoC’s from early 2015.

    The 16 GB Xiaomi Mi 4c is $205 with a Snapdragon 808.

    1. Since when LG and Huawei selling their products cheap ?
This is why those latest nexus selling at very high price.

Google should team up with Xiaomi then we got a PERFECT 10 Mobile phone. VERY CHEAP and POWERFUL, and yet got standard clean android without those bloated adware/shitware

  2. Let see if the camera performance of these can match the price. $500 is the price of current LG and Samsung flagship g4 and s6 since they came out 6 months ago.

  3. Not sure what I expected given the price of the original Nexus 6. Anyway, I’m gonna have to think long and hard about the 6P vs the blackberry priv when that eventually comes out.

  4. Well I guess I will wait, $550 is too much for a 64gb nexus.
My Oneplus One was $350 and it came with 64gb of storage.

  5. Not sure about these phones at all now. You can get a Moto X Pure with 32GB for less than the Nexus 6P.

    1. But no fingerprint scanner. I’m not into the various pay systems, but if I’m going to buy a new phone a fingerprint scanner is a must have.

        1. Same here. I’d much rather have wireless charging, Micro SD or even a camera with image stabilization. All things these devices will probably not have.

The more I hear about these devices the more sad I get.

    2. You have to pay for quality, always have & always will. Unless of course you want a trade off like the bloatware filled Zenfone’s.

I bet the 128GB 6P will only be $600. Can you imagine what Apple would charge for a phone with that much RAM, resolution, & storage?

      1. Never needed to imagine, Android all the way. I think at this point I’m leaning towards getting an LG G4, since it has gone down in price since launch and the new nexus phones don’t offer much improvement in terms of specs.
