Some smartphones promise super-long battery life by including super-large batteries. But a handful take a different approach, by offering multiple batteries.
A few months ago Chinese phone maker Gionee introduced a dual-battery phone, but I haven’t found any stores selling it outside of China yet. But another Chinese phone with dual batteries is now available for purchase.
You can pick up an Innos D6000 for $250 from Pandawill, Gearbest, or Geekbuying.
The phone has a built-in 2,480 mAh battery and a removable 3,520 mAh battery. That gives you a total of 6,000 mAh of power, which Innos says should provide more than 2 days of run time.
The larger battery is hot swappable, which means you can remove the rear cover of the phone and pop out the battery without rebooting. If you have a spare battery, this could let you go even longer between charges.
Unfortunately it doesn’t look like Innos offers any sort of charging station for the battery, so the only way to charge a battery is to insert it in the phone and wait for both the internal and the removable batteries to fully charge.
The Innos D6000 features a 5.2 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot.
It’s a dual SIM phone that supports GSM networks… but while it supports 4G LTE in China, it only supports 3G speeds in other countries. So if you plan to use this phone in the US, it should work with AT&T or T-Mobile, but you won’t be able to take advantage of those carriers’ 4G networks.
Other features include a 16MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a USB Type-C charging port.
