SolidRun’s HummingBoard Gate is a single-board computer with an ARM Cortex-A9 processor, a starting price of $50, and support for more than 150 add-ons that let you attach a motor, clock, sensor, wireless card, or other hardware directly to the board.
Like other members of the HummingBoard family, the HummingBoard Gate has a Freescale i.MX6 processor, four USB ports, HDMI, and an Ethernet jack as well as a 36-pin GPIO header.
This lets you attach boards to add motion sensors, physical buttons, temperature sensors, WiFi, Bluetooth or NFC, an infrared port, or other hardware without using one of the USB connectors.
The HummingBoard Gate is now available for pre-order, with prices starting at $50 for a model with 512MB of RAM and a single-core processor. You can also opt for models with up to a quad-core chip, up to 4GB of RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth, an optional microSD card (there’s no built-in storage) and an optional case for the computer.
