Lenovo is getting ready to update its Yoga line of convertible, laptops with a new model sporting a 13.3 inch, 3200 x 1800 pixel display, an Intel Skylake processor, and Windows 10 software.
The Lenovo Yoga 900 hasn’t officially been announced yet, but a few product pages showed up at a French retail site.
The new laptop will likely replace the Yoga 3 Pro in Lenovo’s lineup. It’s expected to be available with up to 8GB of RAM, up to 512GB of solid state storage, and a 66 Whr battery.
Fnac has listings for two models: one with an Intel Core i7-6500U processor, and another with a Core i5-6200U chip. Both are unannounced processors that Intel will probably officially launch in September.
Both of those are 15 watt dual-core chips based on Intel’s 6th-gen Core architecture, and both should offer substantially better performance than the 4.5 watt Intel Core M Broadwell chips used in the 2014 Yoga 3 Pro.
The new Yoga 900 is expected to measure 12.8″ x 8.9″ x 0.6″ and weigh 2.8 pounds. it has a backlit keyboard, stereo speakers, an SD card reader, HDMI, headphone and mic jacks, and three USB ports: one USB 2.0, one USB 3.0, and one USB 3. 1.

Looks like this might be another leak?

FAIL….. Lenovo still doesn’t get the fact that is someone wants a quad core 3+ Ghz mobile platform that 8Gb is not enough, the only difference between an i5 and an i7 is the suitability of virtualization features, meaning I want to run vmware, and 8Gb is making that upsell useless…… unless your a daft user that just thinks i7 is better because of the bigger number…..drrrrrrrrrrrrrr
And if that’s a photo of it, they’ve still left off the Function Key row like they did on the Y3P.
Non-starter.
What about wireless charging and other wire-free stuff?
I think many people passed on the Yoga 3 Pro because of their use of the Core M processor. I wonder how a Skylake i5/i7 will perform in there. Hopefully heat and performance isn’t going to be an issue…
I can’t wait for the GPU benchmarks.
If Lenovo does not throttle due to thermal concerns.
