Compulab has updated its fitlet line of mini PCs with a new model sporting an AMD A10 Micro-6700T processor. That’s the most powerful member of AMD’s low-power Mullins line of chips.

Fitlet models with less powerful Mullins processors were launched in January, but the new model has a faster processor, higher-performance graphics, and… a higher price tag.

The new fitlet-H is priced at $436. There’s also a more affordable $314 fitlet-iA10 with the same processor if you don’t mind a slightly more industrial-looking case and a few other differences.

Both models feature AMD’s 4.5 watt, 1.2 GHz quad-core 64-bit processor with Radeon R6 graphics, 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, two HDMI ports, and 7.1 channel audio with S/PDIF output.

But the fitlet-H features two memory slots for up to 16GB of RAM, whiel the fitlet-iA10 has just 1 slot for up to 8GB. The Fitlet-H also has room in the case for a 2.5 inch hard drive or SSD and an mSATA SSD, while the fitlet-iA10 has just an mSATA card slot and an eSATAp port for external storage.

The fitlet-H also has two USB 3.0 ports, six USB 2.0 ports (two more than the fitlet-iA10), and a serial port as well as a microSD card slot.

You can find a complete comparison of the two systems at the fit-PC website.

Compulab sells most of its mini-computers as barebones systems, which means you’ll need to provide your own memory, storage and operating system, but there are some models that come with all the hardware pre-installed, along with Windows or Linux Mint software.

The MintBox Mini, for example, is a $295 mini-desktop with an AMD A4 Micro-6400T processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and Linux Mint.

    1. It’s really too bad the Fitlet series are so expensive (unless you go with the lowest level model). The hardware looks really good on paper for turning into firewalls and the like with full support of AES 256. I guess Fitlet isn’t getting preferred customer pricing from AMD…

  1. It doesn’t really seem like AMD is taking the brick systems very seriously. Or taking the chromebook thing seriously either.

    1. I have no clue what AMD is focusing on these day. Their only Edge for a short time was the A-series but now, Intel HD 5500 pretty much on par with their fast APU r6.

      1. Consoles. All of them are made with AMD SoCs. Their trying to force their way back into the PC (gaming) market too, but that will be a challenge.

      2. yep quite true, the only things that can win the hd 5500 is their mobile fx apus.
