The HP Stream 11 is one of a number of recently-launched Windows notebooks priced at $200 or less. It may not be the most powerful laptop money can buy, but it doesn’t take a lot of money to buy it… and now it takes even less than usual.

HP is offering discounts on several of its low-cost laptops and 2-in-1 devices… and if you want to save even more, Groupon has even better prices on refurbished models. You can pick up an HP Stream 11 for as little as $120.

  1. I got the Groupon $120 HP Stream 11 and spent 3 hours “upgrading” it to Windows 10. Had 2.5GB disk left.

Searched for how to free up space. Suddenly had 9GB free – more than I expected, but it seems to work.

Installed Chrome and LibreOffice. Seem to be OK.

Got the big Win 10 update, installed it; seems to be OK.

However, with all the discussion of Windows 10 spying on me, I think I’ll let it sit. My current favorite light machine is an original Acer C720 Chromebook upgraded to 128GB and, using Crouton, running Ubuntu 14.04 as well as Chrome. I much prefer it.
