Acer’s all-in-one desktop computer with Chrome OS is now available in the US.
The Acer Chromebase looks like a computer monitor, but it’s more than just a display. The system also has an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage, enabling it to run Google’s Chrome browser-based operating system,
Why the “and up?” Because there are two versions of the Acer Chromebase. The cheaper model has a 21.5 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display. Pay an extra $100 an you can get a version with a full HD 10-point touchscreen display instead (that link goes to CDW, which is selling the touchscreen model for $10 less than Amazon at the moment).
Both models features 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, Two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, Ethernet, stereo 3 watt speakers, audio jacks, a webcam, and HDMI ports. The system comes with a USB mouse and keyboard.
