Dell’s Venue 8 Pro is a Windows tablet with an 8 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display and an Intel Atom processor.

I reviewed one way back in late 2013 and found it to be a reasonably decent low-cost tablet, but a pretty poor replacement for a desktop or notebook computer. Since then, Dell has released a few variations of the tablet, mostly designed to sell for lower prices.

Right now Dell is offering the best price I’ve seen to date: You can buy a Dell Venue 8 Pro 3000 Series tablet with an Atom Z3735G processor and 32GB of storage for $99. It’s not the best tablet money can buy, but it’s a pretty good price for a cheap model that comes with a 1-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 (worth $70)

Here are some of the day’s best deals.

  1. All that matters is, will it run pure Linux?

    Windows is a whole-system virus.
    Android is an attack vector.

  2. I’ve used the Dell Venue 8 Pro as a desktop with 2 monitors (via USB 2.0 universal docking station) for a while and the performance was not bad at all. General usage computing, word processing, email, internet and even hd videos. 2gb ram and 64gb storage. Enough for the os updates and the included office 2013.
