Folks have been cramming fully functional computers into keyboard cases for years. But most PC-in-a-keyboard systems are missing an important element: a display.
The KoBoJet keyboard from Taiwanese company Sho U doesn’t need a display though… because it has a built-in pico projector which lets you shine a screen onto any available surface.
On the other hand, the KiBoJet isn’t exactly a full-fledged PC. Instead it’s a keyboard + display solution that you can use with an Intel Compute Stick or another tiny PC.
CNET got a chance to check out the KiBoJet at Computex in Taiwan this week and reports it has a 150 lumen projector and can project an image between 21 and 33 inches wide at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The KiBoJet also features built-in stereo 3 watt speakers, WiFi, and Bluetooth, as well as USB, HDMI, and Ethernet ports.
Connect a Compute Stick and a Bluetooth mouse, and the KiBoJet basically lets you take a tiny PC on the road for a desktop-style experience.
Sho U plans to bring its keyboard/projector device to market in 2016.
Looking at this for prolonged periods might make you dizzy
The FullHD resolution for such a small projector is actually impressive! Are you sure it isn’t a software-trick with downscaling?
I’m not sure of anything. This is a demo of a prototype.
They usually quote the max input resolution. Many of the 320×240 projectors are listed as 1920×1080.
Terrible idea to wed the two.. but I’m excited to see that full HD has made its way to tiny projectors! Do you know what chip it uses?
..not sure how it can have ‘WiFi, and Bluetooth, as well as USB, HDMI, and Ethernet ports’ if it relies on another non-specific tiny PC..
We can be 100% sure that there is NOT a 2mp DLP ($100 for just the chip) or LCD in there , and laser would be >150L.
This does not have a 1080p native resolution.
