Motorola is slashing the price of the 2014  Motorola Moto X smartphone. Through June 29th, You can pick one up for as little as $299 after rebate when you buy the phone from Moto Maker. The price in cart will actually be $349, but Motorola says you can get a $50 rebate for responding to a survey.
While this is a great price for a phone that launched last year with a list price of $500, there’s probably a good reason Motorola is slashing the price: a new model is on the way.
According to the internet rumor and leak mills, a next-gen Moto XÂ is coming soon, and it’s possible it could have a fingerprint scanner, a 5.6 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel display, 4GB of RAM, and other premium features including a USB Type-C port.
Of course, the new model will probably cost more than $299… so if you’re looking for the best specs you might want to wait for Motorola to officially unveil its new phone. If you’re looking for the best price, you might want to consider last year’s model, which has a 5.2 inch full HD AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 802.11ac WiFi, NFC, front-facing speakers, and customizable designs.
In fact, the latest promotion allows you to buy order the contract-free phone for $299 (after rebate) and try it for 30 days. Don’t like the colors or textures you chose with the Moto Maker tool? You can send the phone back for a do-over and choose a second design for no additional charge.
Nice. Hopefully that means the MotoX 3rd Gen will land soon so I can decide to get it or the Droid Turbo, since I am due shortly for an upgrade. Still rocking my 1st Gen MotoX and love it honestly, but something new would be nice.
Nice. I can’t wait for a few more years so I can buy a 19″ phone.
where is the survey?
I presume they send it to you after you complete the purchase.
This is very tempting.
