Microsoft’s big-screen all-in-one computer will be available starting July 1st. The company unveiled the Surface Hub earlier this year as a new type of computer designed for business users. And it’ll have a business-class price tag.
A Surface Hub with a 55 inch screen will sell for $6,999, while an 84 inch model will sell for $19,999.
Both models feature touchscreens, cameras, and sensors that let you use the Surface Hub as a digital whiteboard, a conferencing system, a presentation tool, and more. And both models are designed for Windows 10.
You can use up to three different digital pens simultaneously to let multiple people work on the device at once, and the Surface Hub has two 1080p cameras and a four-mic array for Skype or other audio and video conferencing solutions.
The 84 inch model has a 4K display, while the 55 inch version has a 1080p screen.
Starting July 1st, you’ll be able to order a Surface Hub in 24 markets including the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Japan, and Singapore. But Microsoft doesn’t actually expect to ship the Surface Hub to customers until September (which isn’t surprising, since Windows 10 doesn’t actually launch until the end of July).
Folks with long memories might recall that this is not the first time Microsoft has used the Surface name for a big, touchscreen computer. Before the company started selling smaller Surface tablets Microsoft table PCs with the Surface name, before Microsoft changed the name to PixelSense and started making the software available for third-party hardware including the Samsung SUR40.
I just want to know what’s going on in the graph. A bit of activity all over France. Denmark’s busy, and Northern Ireland is going nuts.
