The Asus ZenPad 10 is an Android tablet with a 10.1 inch display, an Intel Atom x3 processor, and support for an optional keyboard dock. While Asus uses the Zen name for its premium products, the ZenPad 10 has the specs of an entry-level tablet.

Asus unveiled the ZenPad 10 at an event in Taiwan, where the company also introduced 7 and 8 inch models. While some models, like the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 have high-end features (including 4GB of RAM and a high-resolution display), the ZenPad 10 spec sheet isn’t anything to write home about:

  • 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display
  • Intel Atom x3-C3200 processor
  • Mali-450 MP4 graphics
  • 1GB to 2GB of RAM
  • 8GB to 32GB of storage
  • 802.11b/g/n WiFi
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • Up to a 5MP rear camera and up to a 2MP front camera
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop

Those specs are for the WiFi-only model. It looks like there’s also a model with 3G/4G capabilities which has an Intel Atom Z3560 Moorefield processor with PowerVR G6430 graphics and support for up to 64GB of storage, as well as a 3G-only model which has an Atom x3-C3230 chip.

The tablet does have a few features that help show that a budget tablet in 2015 is a lot better than a budget tablet from a few years ago. It has stereo front-facing speakers, an IPS display with wide viewing angles, a microSD card slot for additional storage, and GPS.

Asus also offers some interesting accessories including the Asus Audio Dock, which is a Bluetooth keyboard that also has built-in Bluetooth speakers, and the Asus Z Stylus pen with support for 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity.

  1. The ASUS products are good quality and extremely well priced. The ZenFone brand is mid-level, but still very affordable, the FonePad brand has always been entry level; I guess the new ZenPad brand is fairly entry level as well, I’m sure the price will be good.

  2. 1280×800?? That’s freaking horrible. They put the 2048×1536 display on an 8″ model instead of this? Guess I’ll be getting one of those dodgy Chinese imports with the borrowed ipad screen after all.
