Remember Lycos? The company ran a search engine in the 90s, back before everyone started using Google. The company’s been out of the search business for a while, and it’s been acquired and sold several times.

Now Lycos is back… and this time the company is launching a series of wearable devices, because… well, I guess because the wearable market is growing or something.

Lycos is kicking things off with a Lycos Life wristband and a ring.

The Band

First up is the Lycos wristband with the clever name of “The Band.” It’s a wearable activity tracker which can count steps, monitor your sleep, and measure your heart rate, among other things.

The Band features NFC which allows you to tap the wristband to transfer data. Lycos says more details about exactly what you’ll be able to share, as well as other specs, will be revealed “soon.”

It has a screen, comes in a variety of colors, and sells for $125.

The Ring

For $60, you can get The Ring, a $60 device that you wear on your finger like… a ring.

The Ring doesn’t have activity tracking features, but it does feature two NFC chips so you can use the ring to unlock your phone with a tap, share contact info with other users, or perform other functions with compatible devices.

More details (and more features) are expected to be available at a later date.
