BlackBerry is still chugging along with new smartphones launching fairly regularly. The Oslo is next on the list of upcoming mobile devices from the company and N4BB has pictures and specs.
From the images, it appears that Oslo is an updated version of BlackBerry’s Passport. It has the same rectangular shape and 4.5-inch display screen. The specs appear to be the same as AT&T’s version of the Passport, with a 2.2Ghz MSM8974 Snapdragon processor, 13MP camera, 3GB of RAM and a 3450 mAh battery. But there are a few changes tot he exterior design.
The casing is made from a mixture of steel and silver plastic. It has a textured rubberized backside that is beveled.
The device will run BlackBerry OS 10.3.2. According to N4BB, the Oslo is targeted to the EMEA and APAC regions including China and may never reach beyond those areas.
There is no additional information at this time as to pricing and availability of Oslo. However, back in April, BlackBerry Central claimed to have knowledge that the device will launch June 30 of this year.
Personally, I’m more excited to see BlackBerry’s new curved-display smartphone with the slide out keyboard than a refresh of an existing smartphone with a new name.
however materials of the BlackBerry Oslo seem different, maybe the change in materials fabfication enable the firm to sell it at a lower price.

Blackberry royally fucked themselves by not releasing their new products first on the largest business phone provider, Verizon. I dunno what the hell they are thinking.
I still cant believe they are forcing these device on to the market still. They remind me of AOL, unable to change with the time, destined to be bought out.
Says article includes specs, but what about the physical size? That’s the deciding factor for me…
Keep making “special editions” of your “unique” devices, BlackBerry! That’ll save the hardware division, I’m sure of it!
