Micromax spin-off Yu launched its first smartphone about six months ago. It was notable for offering solid specs, a low-price tag, and Cyanogen OS software.

Now Yu is launching a second phone. The Yu Yuphoria is smaller and cheaper than the Yureka, but it packs some serious power for a phone priced at just about $110.

The Yuphoria features a 5 inch, 1280 x 720 pixel display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.

It has a 2,230 mAh battery, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and 4G LTE, an 8MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera. The smartphone will ship with Cyanen OS 12 which is a custom version of Google Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The Yu Yuphoria has a metal body and it will be available in two color combinations. There’s a “buffed steel” model with a grey/silver trim and black back and a “champagne gold” model with a gold trim and white back.

Overall the phone has the kind of specs you’d expect to see from a mid-range device like a Motorola Moto G. But it’s priced more like an entry-level phone like a Moto E.

Yu will begin selling the phone in a flash sale on May 28th.

The company has also unveiled a few fitness accessories including a $15 wearable activity tracker called the Yu Fit and an $80 “Health Yu” device that measures heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, skin temperature, and other health stats.

  1. Ok chinese phone but will these have world bands or just in the Asia?

  2. Nice specs, wonder if the bootloader is unlocked so you can install twrp, cwm or phliz and a different os like cyanogenmod.
