Yota is bringing its dual-screen smartphone with E Ink and color displays to America. The Yotaphone 2 made its debut at CES in January and it’s already available in select markets around the globe.

Now Yota is running an Indiegogo campaign to bring the phone to the US and other regions. If you make a pledge by May 21st you can reserve one for $525 or less. After that the price goes up to $550.

After the campaign ends, Yota says the retail price for the phone will be $600 or higher. Backers of the Indiegogo campaign also get a bumper case for free.

The company plans to ship Yotaphone 2 devices in August to folks who pledge to the campaign, and there’s a pretty long list of countries where Yota is willing to ship, including the US, UK, and Canada, along with countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. While Yota won’t ship the Indiegogo edition of its phone to South or Central America, the company is partnering with America Movil for a Latin American launch of the phone this summer.

The Yotaphone 2 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 5 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel AMOLED display one one side and a 4.7 inch, 960 x 540 pixel always-on grayscale touchscreen display on the other.

You can use the device like a standard smartphone by interacting with the full color display. Or you can mirror the Android environment to the E Ink screen and use your Android apps on the low-power, high-contrast electronic paper display. The grayscale screen has a slower refresh rate, so you won’t want to watch videos or play most games with it, but you can use it to read eBooks, answer phone calls, or view maps or other content that you might want to leave visible even when the color screen is turned off.

There’s also software that lets you use the E Ink screen as a secondary display for viewing widgets, photos, or other information rather than using it to run full-fledged Android apps.

The phone has a 2,500 mAh battery with support for wireless charging and Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. It supports 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC and you should be able to use the phone on most GSM networks including AT&T and T-Mobile.
