Google’s annual developer conference kicks of on May 28th, and you can watch the keynote and many sessions live. Liliputing will be bringing you the latest news from Google I/O 2015 as it develops, and for the first time we’ll have hands-on videos and other content from our senior (and only) West Coast correspondent.

But if you’re sitting in front of a computer at 9:30AM Pacific / 12:30PM Eastern, you can watch the action unfold live right here:

So what are we expecting form Google I/O this year? While the event is aimed at developers, Google usually kicks things off with a keynote where the company highlights some existing accomplishments and showcases new and upcoming software (and sometimes hardware).

It’s unlikely that we’ll see a new Nexus phone or tablet announced at this year’s Google I/O. But it is very likely that Google will start to talk about the next version of its Android operating system, code-named Android M.

The next version of the operating system could have fingerprint authentication baked in, battery life and memory usage improvements, an update to Google’s mobile payment service, and options that give you more control over the permissions used by individual apps on your phone, among other things. Ars Technica has a pretty in-depth run-down of some of the things that are likely to make it into the next version of Android. It would probably make a for a good drinking game during the keynote.

It’s also possible Google could provide updates regarding its plans for the living room (Android TV and Chromecast), vehicles (Android Auto), and wearables (Android Wear and Google Glass).

But Google I/O isn’t all Android, all the time. The company can also take the opportunity to provide updates about the Chrome web browser and Chrome operating system, search, YouTube, and other products.

Google’s ATAP (Advanced Technology and Projects) group is also hosting a session on Friday where the team promises to “blow your socks off.”
